Margaret Kocherga Selected to Join Chain Reaction Innovations

Margaret Kocherga, a fourth-year student in the Nanoscale Science Ph.D. program in the Schmedake Research Lab and a UNC Charlotte alum (B.S. Chemistry) was named as one of six new innovators selected to join Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI), the entrepreneurship program at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Argonne National Laboratory, as part of the elite program’s fourth cohort. This is an exceptionally prestigious honor!

Margaret will join the two-year program starting this June where she will collaborate with a host scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. Her work at Argonne will enable her company, Light and Charge Solutions, to develop a single robust material that will lead to higher-efficiency cost-effective OLEDS (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) used in digital displays.

As noted on the Chain Reactions Innovation website:

“We are excited to welcome some of the brightest and most promising innovators in the country to Argonne through the Chain Reaction Innovations program,” Argonne Director Paul Kearns said. “They have a significant impact on the innovation ecosystem that will help bring the lab’s expertise closer to industry and develop collaborative, scientific leadership for the future.”
